Subtle clues left by Britney Spears suggest the pop star may be looking to quit show biz.
Britney Jean Spears, better known simply as Britney Spears or the ‘Princess of Pop’, has been the subject of much media scrutiny and controversy apparently since starting her professional career as a musical artist in 1998. She was part of a pop music group called “Innosense” for barely a year in 1997 before signing with Jive Records in 1998, where she recorded her first album, Hit me one more time baby. The first single from the album, Hit me one more time baby, was a pop sensation, debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in 1999. She even opened a gig for the boy pop music group, ‘N Sync, in the same year. However, despite her success, she still experienced significant ups and downs in her life. But according to TMZ, could this be the end of Britney Spears’ time in the music industry?
A tumultuous career
Britney has won the affection of her fans, who often rally behind her whenever she finds herself tied to bad publicity. But to be honest, Britney found herself in several uncompromising situations which caused a sensation in the entertainment world. One of the spiciest events was at the 2003 MTV Video Awards, where Britney kissed Madonna for her performance as Like a virgin. In fact, Britney has a history of erratic and flamboyant performances that have made her a fan favorite and a hot topic in the tabloids.
The fight for freedom
Anear a fierce battle against his paternal father, James Parnell Spears, for his guardianship over Britney which was granted to him by the court in 2007 when the pop icon began displaying unstable behavior after the loss of custody of her two children to her ex-husband, Kevin Federline. Perhaps one of the most titled and revisited moments in celebrity history was when Britney shaved her hair and hit a photographer’s car with her umbrella, which described her as mentally unstable. A year later, in 2008, she was admitted to a hospital for a temporary psychiatric evaluation. It was around this time that guardianship was granted to Britney’s father, giving him great control over his affairs and personal affairs.
However, what was supposed to be temporary has spanned 10 years, and now Britney is asking to be released from her father’s tutelage because she “deserves to have a life.” At a hearing in June 2021, she made it clear that she wanted the guardianship to end immediately, stating that she had to “get rid of her father and accuse him of abuse of guardianship.” She also confessed that she was forced to ingest contraceptives to prevent her from getting pregnant and that she wanted to have a baby with it. her new fiance, Sam Ashgari. So, in September 2021, Mr Spears, who was initially reluctant to relinquish guardianship of his daughter, finally authorized the termination of the deal, essentially putting Britney back in the driver’s seat of her life.
Take a break or quit smoking?
Ffollowing the emotional court hearing in September, a Exclusive to TMZ Oct. 2 hinted that since Britney was released from her father’s care, she’s in no rush to step onto the main stage anytime soon. The “princess of pop” who entered the music industry as a teenager is said to be looking forward to enjoying her recent engagement. And with Jamie who no longer holds the reins of her personal, professional and financial affairs, rumor has it that she may never return to the main stage again. Following an Instagram post by Spears in July, her decision was made clear when she said: “… I’m not going to be performing on stage anytime soon with my dad putting on what I wear, say, do or think.” Longtime Spears manager has confirmed his beliefs, Larry rudolph, whose resignation letter that was submitted in July also underscored Britney’s intention to step down from the music business. He went on to reveal that his decision had been communicated to him two and a half years earlier, in which she had communicated to him that she would take “an indefinite break from work”. Her statements also prove Britney’s claims that she was forced to perform on the 2018 European Tour in Las Vegas. The fact that she hasn’t performed since that time may also be proof that she takes her final withdrawal from the music industry seriously.
Britney Spears’ life story has been an inspiration to fans around the world, even spawning a campaign called #FreeBritney to support her 13-year struggle to regain control of her life. And who knows? Now that Jamie is no longer involved in her tutelage, could we see a Britney return to the stage? Only time will tell.
