Burlington pop group WOTE launches new album release atop Toronto’s CN Tower

The Burlington band Walk Off The Earth will do just that tonight, launching the release of their new Columbia album, Meet You There, atop the CN Tower.

The local pop group, in partnership with Amazon Music, will don coveralls and harnesses while performing 116 floors above ground on Toronto’s EdgeWalk.

The CN Tower performance will be broadcast live on Amazon’s Twitch channel.

Members of the Walk Off The Earth group include Sarah Blackwood, Gianni Nicassio, Joel Cassady, Adam Michael and David Speirs.

“Getting the chance to do our thing almost 1,200 feet in the sky with the whole city of Toronto as a backdrop is something we’ll never forget, and being able to sing along to EdgeWalk still doesn’t feel like it really happened. “the band members said in a press release.

“We’re excited to bring Meet You There to the world and share this exclusive seven-song performance in partnership with Twitch and Amazon Music.”

The latest release is the group’s sixth studio album and includes “Love You Right,” a new radio single that stars Danish Grammy-nominated and multi-platinum pop group Lukas Graham.

Walk Off The Earth has been very successful selling over a million records worldwide. They have collected over a billion cumulative views on YouTube and have over eight million social media subscribers.

The pop group will travel to California for three shows, September 3-5, before returning to Toronto on September 18 to perform on the Budweiser stage.
