Some local women-run businesses in Summit County are planning to celebrate International Women’s Day on Tuesday, March 8 by offering 18% discounts to customers who identify as women.
According to a press release, the 18% reduction means a pay gap of 18 cents that still exists between men and women in the United States, according to the US Department of Labor.
A total of 15 women-owned businesses plan to offer an 18% discount. They understand:

- Local liquor in Silverthorne
- The Pad at Silverthorne
- Minimal impact lifestyle in Silverthorne
- Lady Sunshine in Frisco
- Lauren Jefferson Health and Wellness Consulting
- Studio B Dance Center in Frisco
- Mountain Dweller Coffee Roasters in Frisco
- All Flooring in Frisco
- Incredible brains in Frisco
- Saved by Wine at Dillon
- Peak Yoga Studio in Dillon
- Gillespie Photography in Silverthorne
- Timberline Craft Kitchen & Cocktails in Silverthorne
- Shoe Inn Boutique in Frisco
In addition to offering the 18% discount, The Pad is also hosting a happy hour from 4-6pm with live music from Ghanay Gloude. After that there will be a set of rotating female artists from 6-9pm as well as an 18% discount for bar tabs and reservations for all women.
