GREENFIELD, MASS – A Brattleboro singer-songwriter and her band will come together for a performance at the Hawks & Reed Performing Arts Center.

Samirah Evans and Her Handsome Devils will perform in Greenfield on Thursday at 7 p.m. ET. Evans formed the group in 2009 to support the release of his second solo album, “My Little Bodhisattva”. The sextet’s ability to blend jazz, soul, funk and blues helped them build a loyal following as they performed at clubs, concert halls and festivals across New England.

While various original band members have sometimes performed together under the band’s name over the years, this concert will mark guitarist Jason Ennis’ first appearance with the band since 2011, the same year as the band’s album “Hot Club: Live at the Vermont Jazz Center ”has been released.

Other original members of the group performing at Hawks & Reed include Evans (vocals), Miro Sprague (piano), Michael Zsoldos (saxophone) and Conor Meehan (drums). They are joined by bassist Marty Jaffe, who has performed frequently with the band since 2011, including the Hot Club Release Support Tour.

“We don’t take these opportunities to play together for granted,” said Evans. “Each member has experienced success with their own projects since that time. Many now also have families. We are so excited to be able to schedule this show and can’t wait to perform for our fans. “

Advance tickets are on sale now at hawksandreed.com. Places are limited to the first 125 people. Doors open at 6 p.m. The Hawks and Reed Performing Arts Center is located at 289 Main Street in Greenfield, Mass.
