MARIETTA — An American Pops Orchestra show, funded by Parkersburg native Luke Frazier, returns to the Mid-Ohio Valley for a special presentation highlighting the diverse genres that make up American music at 8 p.m. Sept. 22 at Peoples Bank Theatre.
The show, “United in Song” will be filmed for a live TV broadcast from the Peoples Bank Theatre.
Acclaimed artists from country music, Broadway, classical music, bluegrass and more will join a full orchestra for a one-night-only performance. In addition to hearing from famous artists from across the country, audience reactions and footage will be captured throughout the concert for inclusion in the TV special, giving all attendees the chance to appear on a broadcast national.
Featured performers include famed Broadway actress Mandy Gonzalez (“Hamilton”, “In the Heights” and “Nasty”); Rhonda Vincent, bluegrass singer-songwriter and Grand Ole Opry member; iconic Christian and gospel singer Natalie Grant; Ricardo Morales, Principal Clarinetist of the Philadelphia Orchestra; Jacqueline Schwab, pianist of the Grammy-winning soundtracks of Ken Burns films; and Grammy and Emmy Award-winning baritone soloist Reginald Smith Jr., among others.
In addition to the cast, the orchestra will be joined by the Ohio University Singers, under the direction of Bradley Naylor, performing alongside legends of stage, recording industry and screen.
Audiences will experience a fast-paced presentation of various types of music throughout the 90-minute concert. At intermission, the public will have the option of leaving or staying for an additional 60 minutes of replays.
